Before Mad Giant can run ads for your business, you need a Meta (Facebook) ad account. This guide covers existing accounts as well as new setup. Verification and approval can take additional time.
Before you start, you'll need:
A personal Facebook account (to manage the business page)
A credit or debit card for ad spend (Meta charges you directly)
About 10-15 minutes
1
Find or create your business Page
Page setup
Skip this step if: You already control the correct business Page
1.1Sign in with your own authentic Facebook account. Do not share your password with us or create a second personal account for the business.
1.2Use your existing business Page if you have one. Otherwise visit facebook.com/pages/create and follow the current Page creation prompts.
1.3Add your real business name, trade category, contact information and logo. This is the identity customers see on your ads.
1.4Make sure you have full control of the Page. If another person or agency owns it, request the appropriate access before continuing.
Tip: A Facebook Page is your public business identity. It is separate from your personal login and your ad account.
2
Choose your business portfolio
Business assets
Skip this step if: Your Page and ad account are already in the correct portfolio
2.1Open business.facebook.com and choose the portfolio for your business. Reuse the existing portfolio rather than creating duplicates.
2.2If you do not have one, follow Meta's prompts to create a business portfolio with your business name and email.
2.3In Settings, check that the correct Page is available and that you have full control of the assets you will connect.
2.4Complete two-factor authentication or verification if Meta requests it. Menu names can vary between accounts.
Tip: Your portfolio organizes your Page, people and ad account. You keep ownership of your assets.
3
Choose or create an ad account
Ad account
Skip this step if: You already have an active ad account for this business
3.1In the selected portfolio's Settings, look for Accounts, then Ad accounts.
3.2Select your existing account. If you need a new one and Meta allows it, choose Add and create an ad account for your business.
3.3Check the business owner, billing currency and reporting time zone carefully before confirming. Do not create an account just to bypass a restriction.
3.4Assign yourself the access needed to manage campaigns and billing. Confirm you can open this account in Ads Manager.
Tip: Keep a note of the numeric ad account ID so you can verify the same account appears in our integration settings.
4
Check billing and lead permissions
Launch readiness
4.1Open Billing & payments for the intended ad account and add a valid payment method if needed.
4.2Resolve failed payments, outstanding balances and account restrictions. Check any account spending limit so it will not unexpectedly stop delivery.
4.3For lead-form campaigns, accept Meta Lead Ads Terms for the Page that will run the ads. Our integration settings provide a link for your selected Page.
Tip: Meta bills ad spend separately from your Mad Giant subscription. Daily budgets and Meta-imposed limits are different controls; delivery is not guaranteed.
5
Connect and verify in Mad Giant
Connection check
5.1Return to Mad Giant onboarding or Settings → Integrations and choose Connect Facebook.
5.2The permission screen may display TopKnock Production, our shared Meta application. Check that the callback returns to this site's integration settings.
5.3Allow the requested permissions for the correct Page and business assets. Keep existing permissions needed by your other connected accounts.
5.4Select the correct ad account and Page in our settings. Confirm the displayed names and IDs, lead-delivery status and Lead Ads Terms status.
5.5If your Page or account is missing, check your Meta asset access and reconnect. A successful Facebook login alone does not mean campaign setup is complete.
5.6Review your campaign budget, destination, copy and images before approving and launching. Connection does not guarantee Meta ad approval.
Tip: You can revoke our access in Meta Business Settings. If you disconnect, campaign delivery must also be checked in Ads Manager.
What to Expect After Setup
Identity Verification (one-time)
Meta may ask you to verify your identity with a photo ID or business documents. Follow the requirements shown for your account; review times vary.
Ad Review (each campaign)
Every new ad goes through Meta's review process. Review times and decisions vary. Mad Giant checks your creative and targeting, but Meta makes the final approval decision.
Spending Limits
Meta may impose account-specific spending limits. Check your actual limit in Meta before choosing a launch budget; neither a starting amount nor a date for increases is guaranteed.
Fair-housing compliance
Our contractor campaign flow uses Housing Special Ad Category safeguards and restricts targeting accordingly. Review the category and eligible service area before launch; broad geographic delivery does not identify individual homeowners.
Before you spend: test the complete journey
Confirm the correct Page, ad account, payment method and Lead Ads Terms. Review the campaign destination, daily budget and any spending limit.
Open the actual landing page or Meta lead form on your phone. Check your business name, service area, offer, photos, contact details and privacy links. Use photos and claims you have permission to publish.
Submit one clearly marked test lead using contact details you control. Confirm it reaches your dashboard once, with the correct campaign and contact information. A connected account alone does not verify delivery.
Check email delivery and replies. If SMS is enabled, confirm sender approval, explicit recipient consent, delivery and reply routing before relying on it. Test STOP and HELP with your own number; do not text real leads as a test.
Review notification preferences and quiet hours. Your optional account-alert consent is separate from a homeowner's consent to messages from your business. Shared company ownership does not transfer campaign approval.
Check tracking for the chosen destination. Website campaign measurement must respect cookie and advertising-consent choices. Do not promise that every visit or lead can be attributed.
Approve the final copy and image together, then confirm Meta's review and delivery status. After launch, check actual spend and incoming leads in both systems. If a stop request is pending, verify delivery directly in Ads Manager.
Calendar-based budget scaling is unavailable. Google Business Profile management is not currently available; public Places reviews are a separate feature. Do not rely on these unavailable features for launch.
