What Does Google Business Profile Management Actually Include?
By the Mad Giant team
Separate profile work from website SEO and paid ads
Google Business Profile management concerns your business listing: accurate information, suitable content, customer reviews and the activity reported through that profile. It is not automatically a website rebuild, a link-building programme or Google Ads management. A useful proposal names the actual deliverables rather than promising to own the map.
What a practical scope should cover
Start with correct business information, services and hours, supported by the business's actual operations. The provider should establish the right permissions and confirm changes with you. Keep your own account access. Review any proposed change to your business identity or service details carefully.
For example, an HVAC business can supply an approved installation photo and the actual service details. Those become a post draft to review; a new customer review becomes a reply draft in the same approval workflow. This keeps the profile active without asking the owner to start from an empty editor. Ongoing work can include posts based on suitable job material, drafted review replies and eligible customer review requests. Agree who supplies photos and facts, who checks them and who publishes. A draft sitting in an approval queue is different from published content. Do not count either as a booked job.
Mad Giant's Google profile scope
Google profile management costs $129/month or $1,290 paid annually. Ads + Google profile costs $399/month or $3,990 annually, with ad spend separate. Extra managed locations cost $49/month or $490/year each. Google profile plans include one managed location, weekly Google posts, review-reply drafts, profile tune-ups, review requests for eligible customers and Google engagement reporting. You approve changes and content, unless you explicitly enable positive-review auto-replies. Extra managed locations carry a separate charge. The Ads plan alone does not include this work; the combined plan includes both services.
Weekly Maps heatmaps support up to five tracked search terms per managed location after setup. Each uses a seven-by-seven map grid and shows its search term, area and scan date. Provider delays or connection issues can affect delivery. See the Google profile page and pricing for the current offer.
Read reports without confusing signals with outcomes
A map position is a snapshot for a particular search and location. A call-button click is not proof a conversation happened. A website click is not a confirmed enquiry. Use these signals alongside actual customer contacts, estimates and bookings where you can connect them reliably. Missing outcomes should stay unknown.
Ask how locations are billed, how connection failures are reported and how approval delays affect delivery. Be wary of ranking or revenue guarantees. Consistent maintenance can support the customer journey, but it cannot establish demand or control Google's decisions. Compare the wider contractor marketing workflow if you need advertising as well as profile upkeep.
